Being a dancer is a fantastic profession. But at the same time, it is a vulnerable one. An injury can happen just like that, the competition at auditions is punishing, work schedules are heavy and careers are short. It is a demanding career, which often ends earlier than expected. And what then? It is often difficult to combine thinking about what to do after your career with the concentration demanded by the profession.
The careers advisor offers help with career issues. Through a few discussions and structured exercises, a dancer’s possibilities and still undiscovered talents are outlined. Don’t forget that the choice of a new career costs time! It is not a one-off action, as suggested by the word ‘choice’.
