Changes to the board

The board of the ODN comprises five members on the basis of equal representation. Two members are appointed by the union (FNV KIEM) and two members by the employers’ organisation (NAPK). Together, they appoint an independent chair.
In the meeting in April this year, the dance employers decided to replace their representatives on the board with immediate effect. Rein Douze and Beppie Blankert, who had sat on the ODN board up to then, were immediately succeeded by Toine van der Horst, who has been acting business manager with Dutch National Ballet since 1 April 2014, and Thomas Smit, the business manager of Conny Janssen Danst.
The Omscholingsregeling looks back with great pleasure on the period that Rein and Beppie served on the board and on the constructive contribution they both made to the scheme during that period. The board expresses its appreciation for the dedication and integrity with which they fulfilled their duties on the board.
The arrival of Toine van der Horst and Thomas Smit means that companies subsidised by the BIS and companies subsidised by the Performing Arts Fund NL are both represented on the ODN board.

"When as a dancer it is time for a change, a lot of feeling of insecurity arises. The Omscholingsregeling gave me financial support and self confidence to face these new challenges." (Jérôme Meyer)
