On Prinsjesdag, it was announced that the State Secretary for Culture, Halbe Zijlsta, has added an extra sum to the dance subsidies, to cover various conditions of employment, including the Omscholingsregeling Dansers.

For the 2013-2016 period, the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs and Science has made a sum of € 600,000 available, which will be divided over the companies in the basic infrastructure.

The news comes just at the right time, as the social partners NAPK and FNV KIEM are currently negotiating the collective labour agreement for the coming period. The Omscholingsregeling Dansers is also on the negotiation agenda. The State Secretary’s announcement will allow the Omscholingsregeling to continue without making further cutbacks.
