Aiming for a healthier and more sustainable labour market in the performing arts Omscholing Dansers Nederland (ODN) and the Social Fund for Performing Arts (Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten, SFPK) decided to work more closely together. Both organizations shared already their office space but as of April 1, 2020, there will be only one administrative organization that handles all applications, guidance and approvals.
The services provided by both funds will remain the same. Dancers can turn to the Omscholingsregeling for career advice and financial support. Workers from other performing arts organizations can submit their applications for a contribution towards study costs to the SFPK.
The collaboration’s benefits are to work more efficiently and a one-stop shop for training and career development in the performing arts.
In the current circumstances it is even more important that performing artists are able to take direction over their careers. As a result of the Corona crisis, rehearsals, performances and concerts have been cancelled. This unintended break can also be a time for reflection. Therefore, the office of SFPK and ODN remains open, albeit digitally, for anyone who is considering further education, courses or retraining during this period.
